2010 PMGA MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Player Contact Info   Match Play Info   Rules of Competition

These are the twenty players in the 2010 Match Play Championship (see PLAYER LIST W/ BASE HANDICAP).  Following is the process we will use to get the field down to 16.  Each player will play two matches.  One match will be blind drawn from your half of the field by handicap and the second match will be from the other handicap portion of the field.  Below are the matches that must be completed by May 2nd (NO EXCEPTIONS!!)  You can play the matches in any order.  We will pair participants entered in the March 27th PMGA event for these matches.  Before starting play the participants can agree as to whether they want to play the match during the PMGA stroke play event or not.  (See attached Match Play Rules).  (Putts may be conceded for the match, but must be putted out for the individual stroke play event.)

Points in this elimination process will be accumulated based on the number of "holes up" at the end of the match.  All matches will be played the full 18 holes.  For instance, if you are three up with two holes to play, you will continue the match through the eighteenth hole and count the holes up at that time.  This will allow players a maximum opportunity to improve their standing by winning more holes or keeping the other player from winning those holes.  Players will accumulate points for the two matches.  Both players will receive “0” points for a tie after 18 holes.  THE PERSON WHO SCORED THE POINT(S) IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING THE RESULTS TO BOB BALDWIN.

The sixteen players with the most points after the two matches will continue.  Ties for the last spots will be selected from:  number of matches won (tie = ½ match), matches won with least differential, most points won in one match, blind draw (hopefully it won't come to this).

All matches will be played according to the attached Match Play Rules.  The schedule provided will apply once the 16-man field is determined

2009 Match Play Champion: Rick Chervin
